Innovations in Wet Wipe Packaging
Drop by the stand of global packaging machinery firm Shemesh Automation to find out more about its latest packaging lines for the nonwoven wipe market, which have been designed to reduce downtime, increase speed and facilitate a smaller machine footprint.
‘First for nonwoven wipes’
Headlining Shemesh’s innovations is its new packaging line for round wipes in buckets: BuckIt TKS25. In a “first for the nonwoven wipes market”, Shemesh says the line can reduce downtime by offering automated feeding for buckets and bucket lids. Separate continuous denesting machines each feature a servo-driven interchangeable vertical carousel cartridge for continuous denesting.
BuckIt TKS25 also includes Shemesh’s SAS-J Vertical Wipes Buckets Stuffer, which builds on the technology used in its SAS Canister Stuffer series to accurately stuff round nonwoven rolls into buckets before the wetting phase. Shemesh says its vertical stuffing methodology facilitates a smaller machine footprint, while increasing speed and accuracy.
Packing up to 25 buckets per minute, the BuckIt TKS25 also includes the FGW-J buckets liquid filling and dosing machine, which uses height-adjustable wide nozzles for homogenous wetting of nonwoven rolls.
New model in Citadel-J range
Shemesh will also unveil the newest model in its Citadel-J range: Citadel-A. Citadel-J automatically stuffs jumbo-sized nonwoven rolls into premade bags. It then supports the heavy bag while it fills them with liquid, seals the bags and then ejects the finished product at speeds of up to 15 packs per minute, according to the firm.
Citadel-A will be able to pack both Jumbo wipes of typically 600ct wipes and above, as well as consumer/refill wipes of typically up to 300ct wipes – all with the same machine.
Shai Shemesh, President of Shemesh Automation, said: “One of the most significant competitive advantages we offer our customers is the ability to obtain machinery that covers the entire packaging process, made by one experienced manufacturer.”
